   Cattle Inch Higher While Hogs Run Out of Steam

   Bids were offered throughout the day in Nebraska, but still no cash cattle
trade has developed.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

   The livestock complex closed mixed, with the cattle contracts keeping their
rally through the end of the day, but the lean hog complex ran out of momentum
and closed lower. Still no cash cattle trade has developed. March corn is up 3
1/2 cents per bushel and March soybean meal is up $3.80. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average is up 12.19 points and the NASDAQ is up 40.35 points.
